Students of Turkan Sabanci Primary School for the Visually Impaired, which states at the Asian part of Istanbul participated at the study. The participants, being 15 boys and 2 girls, were at the ages of 12-14 and they had no any other kind of problems for making sports except being visually impaired. In the study, initially a four-week pre training program (once a week 90 minutes) that includes voluntary students’ conditions and basic skills has been applied. In the second step, physical appropriateness levels of the voluntaries that were able to continue to the program have been evaluated. Age, height, weight, triceps and calf skinfold measurement parameters and physical parameters of push up, pull up, 1 mile running-walking test, curl up, trunk lift test, sit and lay flexibility test, hanging at the bar with twisted arms tests that were applied according to Brockport test battery developed for the handicapped persons, were taken and during the following two months, basic judo exercises were practiced. At the end of the practice period, voluntary participants were re- evaluated with the same test battery. For the analysis of the data taken from the measurements, T –test was preferred. If we are to evaluate the first and last test parameters, we can conclude that while there existed no significant difference at the height and hanging at the bar with twisted arms parameters (P>0.05), significant difference was found at the p<0,001 level in terms of weight, triceps, calf, push up, pull up, running-walking, curl up, trunk lift parameters. As the result of the study, it has been determined that two months long basic judo training applied on visually impaired students has significant positive effects on physical developments of handicapped students.
