Each year, sports clubs develop many marketing strategies in order to increase the satisfaction of existing sports spectators and to involve new fans in club events. This global and national effect of football and football spectators causes many sports and marketing studies to focus on football and football spectators. Considering the loyalty of the fans toward sports teams, one of the indicators of attitudinal loyalty, which is an output of this loyalty, is behavioral intention. In this direction, the aim of the present study was to examine the effect of involvement levels of football fans on their intentions to reparticipate in sports competitions. A total of 185 football fans, 120 male (X̄ age = 37.35 ± 9.56) and 65 female (X̄ age = 32.46 ± 8.63), aged 18 and over, who were supporters of a football team and had watched a football match from the stadium at least once, participated in the research. In the findings, statistically significant differences were found in both involvement levels and reparticipation intentions of the participants according to participants' certain demographic characteristics (p < .05). When examined according to the psychological continuum model stages of the participants, reparticipation intentions showed a statistically significant difference between the stages (p < .01). In conclusion, it has been determined that the level of involvement in football fans is related to the intention to reparticipate in football matches, and the reparticipation intention increases as one moves from the Awareness stage to the Allegiance stage in accordance with the psychological continuum model (p < .01).
