This study was carried out to determine the family profiles of gymnast children. 38 females and 39 males parents were participated voluntarily in this study. Subjects of this study were the parents of artistic gymnasts at Istek Vakfı Gymnasium in Istanbul. The data sheet to gather the information about the gymnasts families were prepared by searhing the related literature. After a pre-application, the data sheet was rearranged and applied to parents by interview method. Data of this study was analyzed by SPSS 9.0 for Window Packet programme as mean ( ) ,standard deviation (Sd) ,frequency (f) and percentage (%). The results of this study were as the followings. -The age of the parents was =38, 96±6,33 years and the age of gymnasts was 6,96±1,94 years -the income of parents was =2,869±2,25 billion TL. -the total training periods of gymnasts in a week was =5,63±3,91 hours. -The parents preferred to send girls to artistic gymnastics more than boys. -The total members of families were between 3-4 -The most of the parents were married and graduated from universty. --The most important factor for the parents to send their children to artistic gymnastics was health. -Children had heard about the artistic gymnastics from their friends. Parents thought that participating in a sport activity provide benefits for the personality of their children , also the parents did not think gymnastics as a profession for their children.
