Investigation of Submissive Behavior in Faculty of Sports Sciences Students in Terms of Various Variables

The aim of the research is to observe sports science students’ submission behaviors in terms of different variables. The sample of the research consists of 52 female and 80 male, totally 132 students of Sports Sciences Faculty. Data of the study are collected via Personal Information Form (PIF) that is created by researchers and Submissive Behaviors Scale (SBS) which is adapted to Turkish by Şahin and Şahin (1992). The scale consists of 16 items which are designed in a 5-point Likert type. The minimum point can be gained is 16 and the maximum is 80. SPSS 15.0 program is used for the analysis of the data. Cronbach Alpha is calculated as .89 as result of reliability analysis. According to findings, a significant difference could not be found among gender, class, age and place of growth. A significant difference is found between the grades students gained from SBS and their departments (p<.05). The average point students gained is 43.51. As a result, according to the points gained by the scale, Sport Sciences Faculty students have a medium-level of submissive behaviors, it was only differed in respect to their department of education (p<.05).
