Purpose of the study; physical and conditional characteristics of soccer players. Male footballers from 5 infrastructure clubs active in Istanbul Pendik, Tuzla and Maltepe districts voluntarily participated in the study. The average age of participants was 17,51 ± 1,25 years, the average height was 1.76 ± 0.07 cm and the average body weight was 66,96 ± 7,28 kg. Tests were conducted for players who were keeper (n = 9), stopper (n = 14), back (n = 20), midfield (n = 13), wing (n = 16) and striker (n = 13). To the participants; long-jump test, shuttle test, push-up test, 20-meter speed test, sit and reach test, shuttle run test, and T-test was done. The obtained data were evaluated in the SPSS18 statistical program. When the number of participants was n <50 in the groups, Shaphiro Wilks test was performed to see if there was a normal distribution. Descriptive statistics and Mann Whitney U test were also used to compare positions.
As a result; when the data obtained without this study are evaluated; age, sport age, height, weight and body mass index values were found to be parallel to each other. In other measures, there were minimal differences between the positions, which were not significant. As a result, it can be said that defense players in today's football increase the support given by defenders to attack and offensive players, and to select and train the athletes who can perform multi-directional activities.
