Examining the Relationship Between Professional Ethics Principles and Self-Control and Self-Management Skills of Coaches

The aim of the study is to investigate the relationship between coaches’ professional ethical principles and their levels of self-control and self-management. The population of the study consists of coaches located in Istanbul. The sample includes 310 coaches determined through random sampling method. In the scope of the research, a personal information form, the Coaches’ professional ethical principles scale, and the self-control–self-management scale were utilized as data collection tools. The analysis of the data obtained in the study was conducted using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences 25.0 software package. Nonparametric tests were employed for intergroup comparisons. Spearman correlation test was utilized to determine the relationship between variables. The significance level was set at p < .05. In conclusion, it can be stated that there is a relationship between coaches’ levels of adherence to professional ethical principles and their self-control and self-management skills, and coaches generally exhibit behavior that is in line with ethical rules.
