People need a group to fulfill their aims and desires and also need leaders who direct and help them to reach tehir goals. It is similar for the sports teams. Each team needs coach as a leader, who directs and helps the team to achieve its goals. One of the principal tasks of a coach is to motive his team. Therefore coaching, leadership and motivation concepts are integrated and became steps going to success. The purpose of this study to define the amateur soccer coaches’ leadership behavioral models and the motivation techniques they prefer. A questionnaire is applied to 97 amateur soccer coaches in İstanbul.
