12-14 Age Range Football Players Satisfaction On The Perceived And Preferred With The Leader Behaviors Of Their Coaches

This study is intended to state the difference between the preferred leadership behaviours and those as perceived by the players of coaches of the Bank Asya Football 1. League and 2. League B category. It is also intended to determine the relationship between the satisfaction level of the athletes and the leadership behaviour of the coaches. To provide data, both Athletic Satisfaction Questionnaire (ASQ) and Leadership Scale for Sports (LSS) of Chelladurai have been applied. The research evaluates the leadership behaviour in 5 different aspects and the athletes’ satisfaction in 7 different aspects. The data has been evaluated with the help of SPSS program and Frequency T Test, correlation, multi regression and ANOVA analysis have been applied. There were 85 defensive, 101 middle field, 45 offensive players and 32 goal keepers. 107 soccer players from the Turkish Bank Asya Football 1. League have participated in the research. They were. 31 defensive, 42 middle field, 25 offensive players and 9 goalkeepers. Under the light of the athlete’s qualities, certain differences in the aspects of autocratic behaviour and democratic behaviour have been found in the perceived leadership behaviour, whereas in the aspects of autocratic behaviour, positive feedback and social support in the preferred one. A distinction between the democratic and autocratic behaviour aspects has been observed.
