The nationalist movement that emerged in the west after the French Revolution affected deeply the Ottoman Empire, a multinational empire, and the political atmosphere that emerged spreads to the Turks as well as many ethnic groups. As the ineffectiveness of the Ottomanism and Islamism movements was clearly seen in the Balkan wars, the idea of gathering around Turkism came to the forefront. The Turkism movement in particular went on its way to organizing with the associations established behind each other in the freedom environment brought by the Second Constitutional Monarchy. Among these, the longest-lasting one was Turkish hearths. The founding purpose of the Turks in the Hearths law, which was published in Istanbul in 1913, (Akyüz, 1986: 202)is to study to enable the Turkish race and language to reach its perfection for the advancement and development of the scientific, economic, and economic levels of the national traditions. While there is no sport among the founding purposes of the hearths, the necessity of strong generations for the defense of the homeland and national consciousness with the influence of the war conditions over time, the sport that seems to be the most effective and direct way for the reclamation and development of the race was placed among the activities of the hearths. In this article, it is aimed to reveal the sport activities of the Turkish hearths during the early republic period by using document review methods and literature review, which enables the review, compilation, classification and synthesis of a large number of studies due to the subject of research.
